Named Accountable GP

All patients at Radcliffe on Trent Health Centre have a named, accountable GP who is responsible for patients’ overall care at the practice. Your named GP has been allocated to you by the practice. If you have a repeat prescription you can find the name of your allocated GP at the bottom of this. If you do not have a repeat prescription and you wish to know who your allocated GP is, please contact the practice. You can talk to or make appointments to see any of our doctors or nurses, not just your named GP.  If you have a preference for a particular GP at the practice, please talk to one of our receptionists. We will do our very best to accommodate your request, although this cannot be guaranteed due to the different workloads of our GPs who work full time and part time. If you do not hear from us within 3 weeks of your request, please assume your preferred GP has been assigned to you.

New patients will be given their named accountable GP at the point of registration by the receptionist.

Disabled Access

Access for the disabled and toilet facilities are available at the Health Centre.

As a Rushcliffe patient you can now access routine appointments in the evenings and at weekends. These appointments are best suited for things that will not need ongoing review by your usual practice.

You can book through your surgery during opening hours for appointments between 6.30pm and 8pm in the evening on weekdays and between 8.30am and 12.30pm at weekends. If you request one of these appointments, which are outside of usual working hours you will be offered a slot with a Rushcliffe GP, Nurse or Healthcare Assistant at one of three locations across the borough.  The location will depend on the day of your appointment.

The additional evening and weekend appointments will be available at:

  • East Bridgford Medical Centre
  • Castle Healthcare Practice in West Bridgford
  • Keyworth Medical Practice.

Flu Day Sessions

Flu vaccine will be available at the surgery without the need for an appointment on three “Flu Days” in autumn 2018 for people in the Department of Health Target Groups (see below).

Saturday 20th October 8.30am – 12 noon

Wednesday 31st October 3pm – 6pm

Wednesday 21st November 3pm – 6pm

If you would like a flu vaccine (and are eligible), please come to one of the above sessions at the surgery.

There will be 2 types of flu vaccine for adults – One for over 65’s and one for 18-64. This is because different types of vaccines work best in different age groups. It is important to have the correct vaccine for your age group. The supply of vaccine for over 65’s is being phased over several deliveries in September, October and November, hence the “flu day” dates. Please come to whichever one is convenient, no appointment needed, just drop in.

The nasal spray flu vaccine remains the vaccine of choice for the majority of children (under18).

Target Groups:

Ÿ All over 65’s (65 by 31/3/19)

Ÿ All children aged 2 and 3 (born 1/9/14 – 31/8/16) (some older children will be offered the flu vaccine at school)

Ÿ Pregnant Women

Patients with any of the following conditions;

Ÿ Chronic Kidney Disease

Ÿ Chronic Heart Disease (including heart attack and angina)

Ÿ Chronic Respiratory Disease (including COPD, emphysema, bronchiectasis, cystic fibrosis and asthmatics on preventative inhalers)

Ÿ Chronic Liver Disease

Ÿ Diabetes

Ÿ Immunosuppression (due to drugs or disease)

Ÿ Chronic Neurological Disease (including MS, Huntingdon’s disease and Motor Neurone disease)

Ÿ Stroke or TIA (mini stroke)

Ÿ Morbid Obesity (BMI of 40 or more)

Ÿ No Spleen/dysfunction of spleen

For further details please see 'Clinics & Services' and also click on Vaccination Schedule from the list in the right hand pane.
